It should not be surprising, given the hyper-speed of change we experience in the world of information
technology,that networking with other IT managers and soon-to-be managers would have tremendous value.
As every Manager Mechanics public class draws to a close, we inevitably have the energetic exchange of business cards among the attendees from the various companies. What we hear is that these connections offer practical advantages for technology professionals, allowing them to:
- Expand their personal networks with like-minded IT leaders
- Maintain peer connections and possibly acquire mentors
- Discuss thorny issues with peers of known experience
- Quickly validate marketplace changes with trusted sources
- Talk about creative ideas if they "hit the internal wall"
