Eric P. Bloom, President and Founder

A former CIO, today Eric P. Bloom is the president of Manager Mechanics LLC, a company specializing in Information Technology (IT) leadership development.

He is also an

Prior to founding Manager Mechanics, Eric held senior IT leadership positions at The Boston Company Asset Management, Monster Worldwide, Independence Investments, and Fidelity Investments.

Eric began his career as a software developer (programmer) and moved up through the ranks to CIO. Therefore, he understands his topic, IT management, from the bottom up. As they say, "He walks the walk."

Eric has undergraduate degrees from Bentley University and an MBA from Babson College. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at Bentley University and Boston University.

Terry Coleman, Vice President

Terry is an award-winning sales executive and prior to Manager Mechanics held senior management positions with Cognos Corporation, Pilot Software, Bachman Information Systems, Sonic Software, Lumigent Technologies and a variety of other software organizations. She was a founder of NETSEA, New England Technology Sales Executive Association as well as the New England Telesales Alliance.

Terry has extensive experience building highly productive sales organizations by working to grow both the measurable productivity, and the motivation & skill levels of her teams. She has always been in high tech and in that capacity has continually worked with, sold to and been surrounded by "techies" Her commitment to skills training, leadership and team development has informed her entire career and she brings that philosophy and expertise to Manager Mechanics.

After an undergraduate focus on the arts, Terry was awarded a Master of Science in Information Resource Management from Syracuse University.

John Harding, eLearning Development Specialist

John has been a teacher, story-teller and service provider for his entire career. Prior to his Sales Associate role at Manager Mechanics, he worked in a variety of market sectors. In the television broadcasting industry he was producer, director, videographer and editor for both an NBC affiliate in Bakersfield CA and Kern Government Television. For twenty years he was mentor, coach and leadership advocate for youth organizations

An excellent communicator and active listener, one of John's greatest skills is his ability to understand what it is like to be in the client's position. He brings to his work with Manager Mechanics a collaborative mindset that is key to the value of his interactions with prospects and customers.

John has a bachelors degree in Radio, Television, and Film.

Gwen Acton, PhD, Leadership specialist and trainer

Gwen Acton, PhD, is the CEO of Vivo Group and a business partner of Manager Mechanics.

Gwen is an expert on improving the leadership, management and people skills of scientists and engineers so that they can be more productive and innovative working in industry. Prior to founding Vivo Group, she ran the operations of the Functional Genomics Program at the MIT/Whitehead Center for Genome Research, a $40 million, 50-person sponsored research program.

Gwen holds a doctorate in biology from M.I.T. where she worked in a Nobel-Prize winning laboratory. She next served as a faculty member at Harvard University in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology where she designed and delivered courses for undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Acton is the author of the book The Bluffer's Guide to Genetics, published by Oval Books. A popular speaker and moderator, Dr. Acton is a member of the National Speakers Association.

Phil Ailes, Learning and Development Specialist

Phil is the President of Ailes Consulting LLC, providing management and training solutions for their clients.

Phil has extensive experience in the development and delivery of innovative technical and management courses. Prior to Ailes Consulting Phil worked at Fidelity Investments as a Senior Project Manager/Instructional Designer designing, developing, delivering and managing company-wide IT training programs. Phil has worked as the Sales Training Manager at Markem, Global Training Director at NetScout systems, and Senior Sales Trainer at Digital Equipment Corporation.

He holds a Master of Management degree from Cambridge College in Cambridge Massachusetts.

Phil is dedicated to the success of his customers through the use of innovative and interactive training techniques, ensuring positive results.

Jacqueline Baker, Sexual Harassment Prevention Specialist

Jacqueline is the President of PowerPrez, Inc. and a business partner of Manager Mechanics.

Jackie has developed successful techniques to help managers and individual contributors meet new challenges, learn to communicate more productively and manage effectively in a changing environment. Her interactive, hands-on programs provide participants with the opportunity to practice using relevant situations. This means that attendees are prepared to begin using new job-related skills and knowledge immediately.
